THE PROJECT IN THE FIELD FOR MATAMBO

In Campo per Matambo (On the Field for Matambo) was born as a solidarity project that unites sport, community, and international cooperation with a concrete goal: to offer young people in Matambo, Mozambique, a safe space to grow, meet, and dream through basketball.

Sport thus becomes an educational and social tool, capable of creating real opportunities, strengthening a sense of belonging, and promoting values such as respect, collaboration, and dignity.

ASSOCIATIONS INVOLVED

The project is made possible thanks to the work and shared vision of multiple organizations united by the same spirit of solidarity.

TO.BE is the promoter of the initiative, a project that uses sport and events as a driver of social impact, creating connections between territories, people, and important causes.

Alongside TO.BE operates Dignity – No Profit People ETS, a third-sector organization committed to developing educational and social projects in vulnerable contexts. Dignity works to ensure concrete opportunities for local communities, focusing on the individual, human dignity, and inclusion.

In Mozambique, Dignity's commitment is embodied in the project AllyHoop for Matambo, which aims to build a complete basketball court, including a hoop and playing area, as a gathering space for children and young people.

CAORLE CHARITY EVENT

A crucial moment in the journey was the charity event held in Caorle, at the Palamare Valter Vicentini. The charity basketball game In Campo per Matambo saw the participation of guests from the basketball world, enthusiasts, and supporters of the project.

The proceeds from the event were entirely donated to Dignity – No Profit People ETS and represented a decisive contribution to the completion of the basketball court in Matambo, enabling the construction of both the hoop and the playing area.

CHARITY DINNERS AND INITIATIVES

Alongside the sporting event, charity dinners and other solidarity initiatives organized over time played a key role. These were moments of meeting, sharing, and participation that involved people, families, and supporters, transforming solidarity into a tangible experience.

Thanks to the sum of these events, it was possible to raise the necessary resources to complete the project, demonstrating how the union of small and large gestures can generate a real and lasting impact.

MATAMBO AND THE CITY OF TETE

Matambo is a community located in the province of Tete, in northwestern Mozambique. Tete is one of the most important areas of the country, but at the same time characterized by significant social and economic challenges, especially for young people.

In this context, the construction of a basketball court is not just a sports infrastructure, but a symbol of opportunity, hope, and the future. A space where young people can meet, play sports, feel part of something, and build positive relationships.

A SHARED ACHIEVEMENT

The Matambo basketball court is the result of collective work: associations, volunteers, supporters, and event participants have all contributed, each in their own way, to transforming an idea into reality.

In Campo per Matambo demonstrates that sport can go beyond the game, becoming a bridge between different worlds and a concrete tool for social change.
